What are your rates? Our pricing is available on our website, in our brochures, and at the front counter. The minimum daycare rate is for a half day of daycare (4 hours or less), and we charge an hourly rate between our half day and our full day (more than 6 hours) of daycare. For boarding, we offer a discount for dogs from the same family sharing a suite. Boarding rates are for a rolling 24-hour period, so daycare charges may be applied to the last day of the boarding visit if the parent picks up after the time the dog was dropped off. Applicable daycare charges on the last day of the visit will be either a full day or a half day depending on the amount of time lapsed from the original time of drop off.

Can I just drop my dog off for boarding? In order for your dog to have the best possible experience, contact us prior to the boarding visit to complete the required tryout process . The tryout includes a temperament test followed by a half a day (4 hours) of daycare. Tryouts are scheduled by appointment only, so please allow time prior to your dog's first stay with us.
Do I need reservations for daycare? Once your dog has completed the tryout process and is admitted onto the playfields, it is not necessary to call ahead to reserve dates for daycare visits. As long as your dog passes the tryout and the vaccinations are current, you may bring your dog for daycare any time Monday through Friday without reservations. Dogs who do not pass the tryout and require the use of our Bullpen, do need to contact us prior to the daycare visit to ensure availability of that playfield.

How old does my dog have to be to come to Paws Field? Puppies need to be a minimum of 12 weeks old and have received their rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccinations to complete the tryout process. Please keep in mind that many veterinarians will not administer rabies vaccinations until your puppy is a minimum of 16 weeks of age. Check with your veterinarian about what is appropriate for your dog.
What vaccinations do you require? All dogs who enter our facility MUST have current rabies, distemper and bordetella vaccinations. Proof of all three vaccinations is required BEFORE your dog may enter the facility. We will accept either the annual bordetella injection or the 6-month intranasal bordetella booster, but we strongly recommend that your dog receive a booster every six months. If your dog's bordetella vaccination expires, it is considered to have lapsed. In this case, we MUST enforce a waiting period of 5 days for the intranasal form and 7 days for the injected form of the vaccination. That means that you must wait either 5 or 7 days from the time the vaccination is given to the time you bring your dog back to Paws Field. There are no exceptions to this policy!
What if my dog's vaccinations expire during his/her boarding stay? If your dog's vaccinations will expire during their stay, they MUST be vaccinated PRIOR to the visit. Without records indicating that your dog's vaccinations will be current throughout the stay, your dog will not be allowed into the faciltiy, even if you have a reservation.
How long can my dog board with you? We do not limit the length of any boarding visit. Please keep in mind, though, that your dog will require more rest the longer he or she stays. It is our policy to provide adequate rest for each individual in our care, so your dog may receive additional naps as his or her stay progresses.
Do you offer any discounts? In addition to several discount programs, we also offer a 5% Customer Rewards Program. Each customer receives 5% of all purchases back on their account as credit to be used for future transactions. See our pricing page for details.

Is someone with the dogs at Paws Field during the night? Once everyone has settled in for the evening and we have finished our cleaning, we secure the facility and do not have an attendant with the dogs at night. However, the facility has an alarm system with 24-hour monitoring.
Do you provide food for my dog? We can provide our game grub at a reasonable cost if you do not provide food, however, we encourage you to bring the food your dog is used to when he or she comes to board. Changing your dog's diet during boarding can upset his or her digestive system. If your dog's meals require special preparation (cooking and/or chopping), you will need to prepare the meals ahead of time as we do not have a full kitchen and/or chefs on staff. However, we are happy to mix food according to your dog's needs and can heat and cool (even freeze) meals if necessary. You may also request ballpark specials and concession stand snacks for an additional charge.
What do I bring for my dog's visit? We encourage you to bring whatever makes your dog comfortable in his or her club suite. A touch of home always makes boarding more relaxing and your dog would probably enjoy a familiar bed, blanket, favorite toys and treats. If boarding is stressful for your dog, bring along a t-shirt or towel with your scent on it so you'll have a presence in his or her suite as well.

My dog is older…can s/he have extra naps? Certainly. In fact, extra naps are encouraged for older dogs and dogs with hip or back problems as well as dogs who are recovering from illness or injury. Puppies also sometimes require additional naps, and we will always try to provide adequate rest for all of our clients.
How long do the dogs play each day? Whenever we feed a dog, we remove that dog from our playfield for a minimum of an hour to rest. We do this to reduce the risk of bloat, a condition that is fatal within hours if left untreated. For this reason, all of our overnight guests remain in their rooms for an hour for breakfast as well as an hour for dinner. Overnight guests have a midday nap as well. Not to worry, though, there are still six to eight hours left to play Monday through Saturday. On Sundays and holidays, dogs boarding with us play on the fields during the hours that we are open, so no one ever spends a full day in their suite. Even dogs using our Bullpen get plenty of time to play and exercise throughout the day.
Can my dog go outside at night to relieve him/herself? Once the dogs have settled in for the night, they do not go back outside. However, we feed dinner early to give them enough time to come back out and play again before bed. Activity activates the bodily systems and encourages the dogs to eliminate. The hours of playtime combined with the early dinner, help most dogs make it through the night. If there are accidents overnight, the suite is thoroughly cleaned again first thing in the morning.
Can my dog have his/her own toys in the playfield? Allowing personal toys in the playfield raises the risk of injury due to the increased potential for resource guarding. We happily provide plenty of our own toys in the playfields, but a dog's personal toys are only permitted in the club suites.
What if my dog is on medication? While we will administer most medications free of charge, an additional fee may be assessed for medications which fall outside of our normal business hours. We do REQUIRE that ALL medications, vitamins, and supplements be provided in their original and/or prescription container . Please contact us prior to scheduling your dog's boarding stay regarding time-sensitive medications as we do not have a medical team on staff. You will be asked to complete instruction form(s) at the time you drop your dog off, so please allow adequate time to ensure all directions are clear to our staff.

Are the dogs outside in extremely hot or cold weather? Our playfields are all indoor/outdoor playfields and the dogs have access to the outdoors during playtime. However, we do limit access to the outdoors in extreme temperatures to reduce the risk of hypothermia, frostbite, and sunstroke. In extreme weather, we close the playfield doors and lead the team outdoors periodically.

Can my dog get sick at daycare? Even in the cleanest daycare environment, your dog can be exposed to illnesses borne by other dogs unbeknownst to us. We do everything possible to reduce the risk to each of our clients. As a parent, though, you must understand that, just as your child can contract an illness from another child in daycare, your dog can contract illnesses from another dog in our playfield. Many of these diseases can be present without symptoms, making it impossible to completely eliminate them. A certain amount of exposure and risk is inherent in the daycare experience, just as it is in life. It is for this reason that we REQUIRE CURRENT vaccinations for all dogs who enter our facility. We also expect that parents whose dogs are sick will not bring them to daycare or board them at Paws Field if there is a risk to others. Our staff is always looking for signs of illness and will remove an affected dog from the facility immediately. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS TO OUR VACCINATION POLICY FOR THE PROTECTION OF YOUR DOG! See our resources page for more information on some illnesses which can be spread through exposure to other dogs.

Can my dog be injured at daycare? Doggy daycare is much like children on a playground. Just as children can be injured in play, so can your dog. Remember that dogs play with their feet and their mouths…and as docile as your dog may seem at home, these are still animals. As hard as we try to avoid ALL injuries, there is always a risk that a dog can be hurt while playing with another dog or playing on and around the playsets. This is a risk in any play environment, not just here at Paws Field.
What if my dog is hurt while he is at Paws Field? In the case of an emergency, the injured dog is taken to the closest veterinary facility, and there is a veterinary clinic next door. If this clinic is closed, the closest 24-hour emergency clinic is less than a mile away. We take all of the dog's information and medication with us and, once we know the dog is in good hands, we call the emergency contact with a full report. If we feel a dog needs care but it is not an emergency, we typically contact the dog's veterinary and, if they feel a visit is necessary, we obtain authorization from the parent to take the dog to one of the nearby facilities for care.

Is there always someone in the playfield with the dogs? YES!...and please don't leave your dog in a daycare where this is not the case. It is a Colorado law that commingled dogs be supervised for the safety of ALL of the dogs in the facility. Visit our resources page for more information on what to look for when shopping for a dog daycare.

Are the dogs all in one playfield, regardless of their size? At Paws Field, the dogs are divided into playgroups determined by size, temperament, and play style. We evaluate each dog to determine which play group is best for them. That also means that they may spend today on the Major League playfield and tomorrow on the Minor League playfield. It just depends on the dogs attending that day and what their temperaments and play styles are like that day.

What if my dog doesn't get along with other dogs? If your dog doesn't pass the tryout, that does not necessarily mean they can't stay at Paws Field. While we don't take aggressive dogs, we can take dogs that can't be mingled with other dogs as long as we can move them through our facility without risk to anyone on two legs or four. Some dogs don't pass the tryout because they are too timid. Others can't play because of a physical limitation. In this case, ask about our Bullpen. This is a separate playfield in which we don't mingle dogs together. We can sometimes board dogs who don't pass the tryout and still not keep them cooped up in their suite all day!

Why do you need a credit card? A credit card is required to schedule ANY service, including the tryout. If your dog is in our care and requires emergency veterinary treatment, we need a form of payment for that care, and this is the primary reason we require a credit card. Also, just as a hotel reservation requires a credit card to reserve a room for you, we are reserving a suite or tryout spot for your dog and reserve the right to use this credit card should you fail to call and cancel a scheduled service. We do hope that our customers will be courteous and call if they don't need a service, so that we can offer it to another guest.

When can I drop my dog off for boarding? So that the dogs boarding with us have a chance to acclimate prior to going to their suite for the evening, we REQUIRE that all boarded dogs arrive at least an hour prior to closing. Please see our hours for details.

Can I pick drop my dog off or pick my dog up on holidays? Pick ups and drop offs are limited on holidays, so please see our Policies page for details.

How often should I bring my dog for daycare? It is rare that we recommend a dog attend daycare every day. The amount of time a dog spends in daycare is dependent upon the dog's needs, energy level, age, physical limitations, and your goals for daycare. Your schedule is also a factor. The purpose of daycare is to provide enough appropriate exercise to head off problem behaviors but not so much that the dog becomes tired and cranky.
My dog hasn't been around other dogs and needs socialization. Can I bring him/her to Paws Field to start socializing him/her? Generally speaking, socialization should begin when your dog is a young puppy and still a part of the litter and should continue throughout your dog's life. Some socialization is required in order for a dog to pass the tryout and maintain a safe environment for everyone. Adult dogs with limited or no socialization may not pass the tryout or may need to schedule several tryouts before they can be integrated safely into the playfield.

Do the dogs ever fight? Dogs do sometimes fight. However, each dog that enters our playfield must pass a thorough tryout before being allowed on the playfield. While we sometimes have discussions and disagreements on the playfield, actual fights where dogs make contact are not as common. Whether there is a discussion or a fight, though, our staff is quick to implement our argument protocol, separate the dogs, and remove offenders from the field. If appropriate, we will refer the dogs involved to a trainer for behavior modification. Once we take this step, the dog must complete the program to the satisfaction of the trainer before going through the tryout process again and being readmitted on our fields.
When do you offer tryouts? Tryouts are scheduled by appointment only Mondays through Saturdays at 10:30 am and 11:30 am. A 9:30 am appointment is also available Monday through Friday. Call us to schedule an appointment for your dog. Remember, all paperwork MUST be completed and proof of current vaccinations obtained prior to scheduling a tryout.
Do the dogs get too tired? Yes…dogs are not typically used to the amount of activity they get at daycare. This is one reason we offer naps. In fact, a dog that is too tired can become cranky and raise the risk in the playfield. Our staff will provide naps to any dog who needs a little extra time in their suite.

Do you have web cameras? Our web cameras are secured, and logons are only provided to our customers during the tryout process. This is to help ensure the safety of our clients as well as the availability of bandwidth for our customers.

Does my dog have to be spayed or neutered to attend Paws Field? At Paws Field, we will accept unaltered females who are not in heat, but we will not allow an unaltered male over 7 months old on the playfield. These dogs are still welcome to board with us as long as they are not aggressive and the Bullpen is available to them during their stay.

What is a premier boarding Pass? Premier Boarding Passes are offered on a seasonal basis. They allow parents to purchase ten nights of boarding on a discounted basis. These boarding nights can be used all at once or can be spread out over several days. Current passes expire January 31, 2009 and cannot be used on the following dates: 11/21/08-11/29/08 and 12/19/08-1/1/09. Restrictions and change/cancellation policies apply, and applicable daycare at the end of the boarding visit are also deducted from the boarding pass.
